Meet Rachel Wong, the founder of Sweet Resonance, where sound, stillness, and intention come together to create space for rest. Drawn to wellness practices from a young age, Rachel found her path through sound baths—an experience that transformed the way she approached mindfulness and connection, both with herself and others.

What began as a personal journey to navigate stress and grounding has grown into a practice rooted in accessibility, care, and community. Through thoughtfully curated sessions, collaborations, and gatherings, Sweet Resonance invites people to slow down, tune in, and experience the power of sound as a tool for restoration and connection.

What made you curious about the wellness business?

From a young age, I was drawn to yoga classes and wellness-adjacent events. In college, I attended a music festival where I was exposed to sound baths, talks on wellbeing, and all kinds of movement classes. In that moment something clicked. I felt like my people were in

this space, and I wanted to be part of it.

Music and sound have always made me feel free. Traditional meditation was difficult for me at first because I struggled to focus, but everything changed when I began listening to sound while meditating. I could drop in more easily, and my love for sound baths grew from there.

What is something about the wellness business that you think more people should know about?

I think more people should understand the benefits of sound baths. Many people leave sessions feeling relaxed or lighter, but don’t always realize the deeper impact. Sound baths can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus, lower blood pressure, enhance sleep quality, and even ease physical pain. It’s not just a moment of calm or a nice nap, it’s support for your nervous system over time.

Can you tell us about key milestones and significant events that have shaped your business’s journey up to the present day? (i.e. Jan 2023 - Established LLC for business, Mar 2023 - Officially opened business, etc.)

October 2024 — Became certified as a sound bath practitioner

December 2024 — Began leading sound baths for family and friends

June 2025 — Established my LLC and began officially taking clients

Since then — Built studio partnerships, offered private and corporate sessions, started a monthly newsletter, and grown a community that is incredibly special to me

What is your favorite way to unwind and relax at the end of the day?

I love to sauna and cold plunge after a long day, make herbal tea and read before bed, or spend quality time with my partner and my cat.

You’re all about promoting relaxation and wellness. How did your own experiences with stress or mindfulness shape the practice and approach you offer today?

During my final year of college, I experienced anxiety and had a hard time grounding myself. I struggled to focus in yoga classes (my escape at the time) and found meditation to be difficult. Discovering sound baths was a turning point, as they helped me settle my mind and find some peace.

Because of that time in my life, my sessions focus on relaxation rather than activation. I create a calming, approachable environment where people don’t need meditation experience or any special skill. You don’t have to worry about “doing it right”, you just show up as you are. I also make time to talk with participants afterward, especially if they feel frustrated about not being able to relax. We’re all human, and we all deserve support

in slowing down.

I see that you have a handful of collaborative events like Breathe & Be, Sound Bath & Reiki, and more. Can you tell us a little more about how these events came to be and how it differs from your own offerings like the private sessions or corporate events?

Collaborative events like Breathe & Be and Sound Bath & Reiki came from partnerships with practitioners I deeply respect. For example, Breathe & Be included breathwork led by Ilana Koka of Koka Wellness Group (@kokawellnessgroup) before my sound bath, helping participants drop in more fully. The Sound Bath & Reiki events include Reiki practitioners offering hands-on energy work during the sound bath session.

These public events blend modalities and include more practitioners than just myself. Private and corporate sessions are more tailored to the individuals attending, as I work directly with the host to shape the experience around their group’s needs beforehand. The focus is solely on sound, with the primary intention typically being deep relaxation and decompression.

You’ve collaborated on events like “Sanctuary Sundays” and wellness series — how important is community to your brand, and how do these partnerships influence your work?

Yes, I did my Sanctuary Sundays event with Amanda Hong from Amanda Hong Yoga (@amandahong.yoga)!

Community is everything to me. I love collaborating with other wellness practitioners, especially other women business owners. It’s been so meaningful to connect our communities, support one another, and grow together. Being in community has made the journey of entrepreneurship feel supported and much more aligned with my purpose.

As a wellness entrepreneur in the Bay Area, what have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced building your business?

Even in the Bay Area, where wellness and spiritual modalities are familiar to many, a lot of people still feel intimidated by sound baths simply because they don’t know what to expect. Lack of information and experience creates hesitation around booking my services. I always encourage people to try a session, with me or any practitioner, ask questions, and stay curious. You never know what you might discover when you give yourself permission to try something new.

What is the last thing you were curious about?

Basket weaving! I've always been into crochet and using my hands for creative projects. I would love to one day be able to weave baskets with natural materials and then use those baskets to forage for herbs and mushrooms in my own yard!

What can the community help you with?

If my business appeals to you, please share it with those around you! I encourage this community to get curious, ask me questions, and experience a sound bath for yourself (especially if it is new to you). If you feel inclined to know more, you can also sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of my site sweetresonance.com

At the heart of Sweet Resonance is more than just sound—it’s a practice of presence, care, and community. Rachel’s journey reminds us that resting doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating; sometimes, it begins with simply allowing ourselves to pause and listen.

Whether you’re experiencing a sound bath for the first time or returning to deepen your practice, each session is an invitation to reconnect, reset, and find ease within yourself. To connect or collaborate,
