Overview

As Kindred Curiosity continues to grow across the Bay Area, we're expanding our team to support programming across the South Bay and San Francisco. The Community & Programming Director will partner closely with a Co-Director to lead the team, share ownership of events and initiatives, strengthen community engagement, and create meaningful experiences that bring our mission to life

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

• Partner with another Community & Programming Director to shape programming strategy, align priorities, and ensure successful execution of team initiatives.

• Delegate responsibilities, provide guidance and feedback, and help volunteers grow in their roles.

• Cultivate an inclusive and welcoming community by creating opportunities for members to connect beyond events

Program Planning and Execution:

• Develop and execute Kindred Curiosity's programming strategy across the Bay Area.

• Design and implement a variety of programs and events that align with Kindred Curiosity’s mission and strategic goals.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful program delivery and maximize community impact.

 

Event Management:

• Lead event planning and logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, budgeting, vendor management, and day-of execution.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team and other volunteers to develop and execute event promotion strategies.

Feedback and Improvement:

• Gather and analyze community feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Recommend and implement enhancements that strengthen the community experience and support long-term growth.

Membership Program:

• Support the continued growth and evolution of Kindred Curiosity's membership program.

• Develop engagement initiatives and member experiences that foster long-term community connection.

 

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in event planning, program management, community engagement, volunteer leadership, or a related field.

• Proven ability to lead and execute multiple programs or initiatives simultaneously.

• Strong organizational, project management, and strategic planning skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, volunteers, and external partners.

• Ability to think strategically while balancing day-to-day execution.

Additional Details

• Location: SF Bay Area

• Ability to attend in-person events and meetings across the Bay Area is preferred.

• Estimated time commitment: 15–20 hours per month

• Preferred volunteer commitment: Through December 2028 to help provide continuity for the team. If you're excited about the role but unable to commit to the full term, we still encourage you to apply.

• Board members contribute a Board of Directors (BOD) fee. As a Board member, you'll help determine the contribution alongside the rest of the Board.
